WellessenceMD offers a comprehensive range of Integrative Bodywork and Therapeutic Massage services focused on promoting overall wellness. These services are tailored to address various physical and somatic-emotional issues, ranging from chronic pain management, stress reduction, to weight loss support.

Massage For Weight Loss
Therapeutic massage increases our metabolic rate allowing muscles to burn more calories, increases oxygenation of muscle tissue, reduces cortisol levels, and promotes healthy digestion. Therapeutic Massage is an important counterpart to weight loss, exercise, and dietary plans. It also helps support clients who are trying to reach their target weight goals.

  • Abdominal Massage

Abdominal massage produces many health benefits, such as the reduction of bloating, relief from constipation, improvement of overall gastrointestinal wellness, and the reduction of painful menstrual cramps. The techniques of palpating the abdomen to promote health and wellness has been performed since ancient times and is an effective intervention to reduce abdominal subcutaneous fat, trim waistline circumference, and improve body image in post-menopausal women.\

  • Flow: Full Body Effleurage

Effleurage is a gentle and effective form of massage that improves blood circulation, assists
in the removal of waste products, aids in recovery, and increases lymphatic drainage. Flow is
an integration of full body therapeutic massage techniques designed to help the body relax
by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, while relieving painful swelling in the
arms and legs caused by a compromised lymphatic system. Clients also receive the
additional benefit of improved mood and decreased stress, due to the release of positive
hormones into the body.

Integrative Bodywork
Integrative bodywork is a blending of multiple styles of traditional eastern and contemporary western therapeutic massage to address chronic and acute physical pain, neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, and psycho-emotional issues. Healing modalities include Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, rolfing, shiatsu, reiki, cranial sacral therapy, reflexology, Russian sports massage, acupressure, and more.

  • Move: Assisted Stretching and ROM

There are numerous benefits to assisted stretching beyond pain management, such as
increased flexibility, improved blood circulation, and enhanced range of motion. Releasing
connective tissue allows for easier and deeper movements while building balance, stability,
strength, and day to day wellness. This program utilizes a combination of gentle full body
stretching, facilitated range of motion movements, and reciprocal inhibition to relax and
lengthen the muscles.

  • Release: Reflexology and Cranial Sacral Therapy

Homeostasis is the body’s natural way of healing itself by maintaining a stable internal environment despite changes in the external environment. Reflexology and Cranial Sacral Therapy assist the process of homeostasis by promoting relaxation, aiding in stress reduction, relieving neurological and physiological conditions, and releasing nerve impingements which may contribute to the development of neuro-cognitive disorders. The cranial bones expand and compress and there are over 7,000 nerve endings in each foot. These integrated sessions support the movement of our neuromuscular system and facilitate the re-awakening of our natural rhythm.

  • Deep: Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Integration, and Petrissagy

Fascia is a sheath of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, organs, nerves, joints and bones. When the connective tissue is tight, it can it restrict movement and cause painful health conditions such as myofascial pain, plantar fasciitis, marfan syndrome, frozen shoulder, and others. Trigger Point Therapy and Structural Integration are myofascial release therapies thataddress the structure and function of the body. These therapies in combination with the deep tissue techniques of petrissage assist clients in achieving optimal health through optimal alignment
