Kara J. Nance, MD, FACP
Dr. Kara Nance takes the practice of “healing” to a whole new level. After graduating with honors from Princeton University, she finished second in her class at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Nance did her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago, and also became board certified in Obesity Medicine. In addition, she has completed a yearlong program at Naropa University in Psychedelic Medicine and currently offers Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy for patients suffering with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
In addition to being a medical expert of the body, Dr. Nance is a compassionate healer of the heart. She is certified by Sarah Peyton to provide Resonant Healing for trauma, and is also a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication, created by Marshall Rosenberg. Dr. Nance uses these modalities to support individuals, couples, families, and organizations to overcome both intrapersonal and interpersonal barriers to communicating, supporting, and working with each other more effectively.
Dr. Nance is also an experienced Systems Thinker, certified by the Cabrera Lab out of Cornell University. She is also a certified Enneagram Teacher by Russ Hudson and facilitates an Enneagram Think Tank where some of the greatest minds in the field cultivate and create new theories of personality. In addition to using the Enneagram, Dr. Nance has extensive training in the Jungian Cognitive Functions which inform the Meyers Briggs Typology System. Dr. Nance uses her exceptional “thinking” abilities to help individuals and organizations “Upstream” their understanding of whatever system they’re trouble by.
Dr. Nance is also a co-author of the intuition edition of the best selling book Women Gone WILD, which stands for Wealth, Intuition, Leadership, and Diversity. She also is the producer of The Blindspot An Enneagram Podcast, where she interviews individuals that deeply care about personal empowerment.
When she is not working on one of her passion projects, Dr. Nance enjoys hiking and biking in nature, botanical gardens and arboretums, yoga, reading, traveling, and dining with friends and family, including her four young adult children.
Heidi McClain, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, FPA
Heidi is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with Full Practice Authority to practice in the state of Illinois. Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2015, Heidi has been providing care to patients in the area of primary care, weight management and in the Emergency Department setting. Prior to that, she spent 15 years working as a nurse in both the Emergency Department and Intensive Care setting. Heidi McClain received her master’s degree and post-masters Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Northern Illinois University. This experience has allowed her an impeccable knowledge base in managing many complex health conditions.
Heidi McClain is passionate about delivering quality care to patients. She strives to treat the whole person and enjoys spending time educating patients regarding their health. Health and wellness require both patient and provider to work together to both treat conditions, at the same time being active in disease prevention.

With over 20 years of experience in the somatic-related fields of integrative bodywork, therapeutic massage, mindfulness coaching, and personal training, Joshua Marable brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to WellessenceMD. He embodies a commitment to professionalism and honors each client’s individual needs with a creative and open-minded perspective.
Joshua has an extensive background which ranges from managing a successful practice in Boulder, Colorado to working in the health, wellness, and fitness industry in Tokyo, Japan. Throughout his career he has worked with and developed programs for community wellness centers, colleges, professional sports teams, national events, non-profits such as the Boulder County AIDS Project, and given care to many clients with terminal illness. Joshua is a graduate of the Denver School Of Massage Therapy and is also certified in Hot Stone Therapy, and the energy work of Reiki and Sekhem. He is also a universal patent holder, Master Instructor of Intuitive Life Movement, fitness product developer, and Certified in TRX Rip Trainer and USB I and II.
